Exhibition “Science, technology and innovation achievements of Russia”

On May 12-15, 2011, the exhibition “Science, technology and innovation achievements of Russia”. – the main event of the Year of Russia in Spain - was held in the exhibition hall “Feria de Madrid” (in Madrid, Spain). And as a part of this exhibition, 244 Russian companies presented their latest scientific, technological and innovative projects.

The exhibition was held with accordance of the command of Government of the Russian Federation and with support of administration of the President of the Russian Federation, relevant ministries of both countries, unions and professional associations. The exhibition was organized by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

FSBI TISNCM presented their single-crystal diamond product samples and scanning probe nano-hardness testers: “NanoScan-Compact” and “NanoScan-Mini”, on the shared-use exhibition booth of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation.

Achievements of the Federal Cosmic Agency “ROSKOSMOS, the Russian Academy of Science, the ROSNANO Corporation, the National Research Center “Kurchatovsky Institute”, the Union of Aviation Industrialists, the VNESHAVIACOSMOS and the State Corporation “Olimpstroy”, were also demonstrated on the exhibition.

The Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation – Mr. Alexander Zhukov, the Deputy Minister of Education and Science of the Russian Federation – Mr. Sergey Ivanets, the Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation in a Kingdom of Spain – Mr. Alexander Kuznetsov, the Minister of Industry, Trade and Tourism of Kingdom of Spain – Mr. Miguel Sebastián Gascón, the General Secretary for Innovation in the Science and Innovation Ministry of Kingdom of Spain – Mr. Juan Tomás Hernani, took part at the official opening ceremony of the exhibition.

As a part of the exhibition, there was an excursion to the Science Park “Incubadora” at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid. As a result of that visit, Russian participants got a complete comprehension about the legislative basis and real work of the University Technology Park.

Innovative achievements were also demonstrated on the exhibition itself. There were special terminals, equipped with the information system and installed on the exhibition area; they provided information about participants and exposures. The information system was a part of the network media channels, that included the exhibition internet-site, business contacts exchange data base and International cooperation club “Russia opened to the World”. As a part of the last one, a lot of discussions on the theme of the exhibition were organized for the registered participants.

According to the organizer’s calculations, within four days of the event, the exhibition was visited by more than 5000 people, with at least 3500 specialists among them. As a part of work of the of business contacts exchange data base and unique on-line appointments service, more than 100 effective negotiations were conducted among the business community of Spain and Russia.
